What I Think I Know

by Damien Del Russo

Cute article in the NYT about how children are learning to be demanding little decorators.

Also in the times, a good look at how location tracking is evolving. Big opportunity and issue for parents and kids - sure to be a source of conflict for at least one generation.

Here's an unfavorable review of Return of the King. While I admit being slightly underwhelmed, I think that just speaks to the power of the first two movies. This movie had a lot to do, and it did it well and is a fitting end to the series. But, it is certainly not the clear-cut best of the three.

This guy spray painting Apple iPod signs sure is getting a lot of mileage out of being an idiot. I say he's an idiot because PDASmart fixed mine for $55, and I didn't have to do any neurosurgery myself. Oh well, amazing that the Post squeezes 4 pages out of the story. Even the reference to the woman "trampled" in Wal-mart failed to follow up - the woman has a long history of these fake trampling incidents. This reporter mailed it in.

I find this tidbit a bit shocking:

China has a notoriously poor work safety record. More than 120,000 people died in work-related accidents from January to November this year, the official China Daily said earlier this month.
As Keanu Reeves would say: Whoa. Even in a population over 1 billion that's still an awful lot of people.
