What I Think I Know

by Damien Del Russo

I was delayed, I was way-laid
An emergency stop
I smelt the last ten seconds of life
I crashed down on the crossbar
And the pain was enough to make
A shy, bald, buddhist reflect
And plan a mass murder
Who said lied I'd to her ?

Oh, who said I'd lied because I never ? I never !
Who said I'd lied because I never ?
I was detained, I was restrained
And broke my spleen
And broke my knee
(and then he really laced into me)
Friday night in Out-patients
Who said I'd lied to her ?

Indeed, Playoff Baseball is to blame for my absence. But, I've been keeping some links, so let's get right to it.

Here's a great set of photos from a balcony in Iceland.

Here's a good article on sexual assault in prison, which I feel is the most egregious example of accepted human rights violations in the United States.

Rich Lowry has a Dowdish partisan article in National Review, with some good points and some weak ones.

Here's an unbelievable page where the state of Michigan tries to teach people how to put on a condom...with their mouth!

I can hardly believe this...a 900 person orgy?!

A true plug-n-play device. Whew!

You absolutely MUST SEE this breaking news!

Here's what environmentalism should be about.

For those who wonder why we haven't found WMD in Iraq yet, The Hammer has a good round-up in Wa-Po.

I have seen this Pictures of You commercial a few times...cool! The Cure on television, finally. Too bad it's for HP. Still, a good, uh, development.

Mark Steyn has a good summary of the Wilson/Plame affair.

Ah, where to begin? Perhaps a personal story update is the way to go.

I have been watching my share of sports - Yankees and Red Sox in the ALCS and the Redskins fighting through a couple losses.

Artemis has been a real joy - she's moving around, talking baby talk quite a bit, and generally being cute as possible. I love talking with her, getting her to smile and laugh - there's little in life more enjoyable than that.

I had an interesting soccer experience - some old guy apparently didn't like me much, and proceded to blatantly trip me. After a serious verbal rebuke, he then tried to "take me out" with a rather vicious kick across my legs. But it was a classic "better you than me" moment as said old cracker broke his tibia across my shins. Woops! I'd be sorry for the old coot if he hadn't plainly attacked me. As it was, I was pretty charged up and somewhat less than politely asked him if he'd, uh, like to try that again? Not for 4-6 months, it appears.

My lovely wife has acquired a powerful new toy - a Canon EOS Digital Rebel camera. In the day we've had it, I've been impressed - this thing can take some serious pictures. The level of detail, to me, is incredible - a great machine at an unprecedented price. Kudos to Canon for bringing professional photography to the consumer - this is a real "prosumer" device, and I'm sure we'll get lots of use out of it.

Over the last week we've also looked at buying a new house - we even placed a contact on one property. Alas, in this hot market, it does't look like we'll be moving any time soon. Nonetheless it's been pretty exciting looking at new houses.

OK, we'll see if I can do a little better this week. Later this week I'll have a review of Kill Bill and a discussion of the proper alcohols for the season. Thanks for tuning in!
