What I Think I Know by Damien Del Russo
OK, lots of funny stuff going around. First, this "Hunting for Bambi" activity in Las Vegas is getting a lot a attention - however degrading it may seem, just realize that men would happily run naked for money, but would probably only be worth $100 bucks a pop. The ladies get $1,000 if hit, and $2,500 if they run free. That's not too bad for a little degradation! And of course, it is voluntary.
There's also a clever parody review for the game "Real Life". Nice.
Great news - the Commodore 64 will be relaunched! I taught myself how to program on a Vic 20, the precursor to the C64...and I was a bit jealous of my friend who has a C128. Those numbers are the amount of RAM - 20K, 64K, and 128K respectively. Compare that to the Mac I am using now, with...1 gig of RAM, approximately 50,000 times more than my original Vic 20 (if my brain is working, that is). Still, I've yet to have more fun on any single computer than my old C64! Now all I have to do is find a version of Elite, the best flight simlulator ever (lol).
There's a purported Chinese proverb, "When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail" or something like that. Anyway, that thought recurred to me lately, as our only response to Artemis' crying is for mommy to feed her. That is, if she passes diaper check. Well enough, so far it works. Needless to say, I am out of the loop on that solution.
I'm a bit concerned that soon, she'll be crying for reasons other than hunger, and we won't know quite what to do. I've been working on some things, freelance, like bouncing her around and doing this thing that sounds like stranging cats, but in actuality is my attempt at singing. But this raises new fears - that I might imprint her somehow, forever marring her perception of music, perhaps retarding her ability to sing.
Well, these concerns are probably well-documented, but alas parents don't have time to read up on the solutions. So, we'll muddle through and have a good time doing it. For me, things are pretty easy - cook, change the baby, hold her from time to time (which I love doing), and that's about it. When I go back to work, it may a bit more stressful, or maybe not.
OK, time to work up the budget for our deck plan and emanate love to the ladies in my life. Have a good one.
