What I Think I Know by Damien Del Russo
For those who contributed to my work baby shower, thanks again! We just spent the Babies R Us gift card, purchasing a bassinet, an ear thermometer, and a child car seat (we already had the infant car seat). We have everything we can think of - and we can run to Target for the million things we've surely overlooked.
Starting Wednesday, I have 2 weeks off from work. I'll still be writing the page - mostly with baby/mother photos and thoughts on having a newborn. It will be a very baby site for a while, so I'll forgive those of you who only visit for my brilliant writing if you take some time off. It's summer, and most blogs and such shut down for at least a week or so in August. I don't have any breaks planned, although skipping days will surely remain a habit.
Thanks to everyone who visits! Seeing that there are readers keeps me writing, and I have a lot to catch up on, including ideas for new businesses, plans for a new deck, and other assorted interests. AND A BABY!!!!
Link day!
Cool iSight stuff at Mac Dev Center. Another funny Mac note: apparently Intel's annual report was created on a Mac. Woops!
Staying tech for a minute, Gizmodo reported a while ago that Volkswagen will be offering an MP3 car stereo. Using Phatnoise seems a bit strange to me, given the natural consumer alignment of Apple and Volkswagen. Do these companies even know they appeal to the same demographic? Surely they do. Who needs 20 gig cartridges when an iPod with a cool VW-molded built-in dock would do the trick? Now that would be wicked! And probably a lot cheaper than some proprietary system (that's probably only Windows-compatible...no, say it ain't so!)
The New York Times has a fun look at Candidate Arnold.
Chris Muir has a really funny Day by Day. It's great having an a effective "Comedic Conservative" torching the issues in three short frames per day. Keep it up Chris!
The Washington Post has a great travel article covering an example of Vacation by Push-Pin.
The Wall Street Journal opinion page has a restrained take-down of Anne Coulter's new book. One thing I've noticed is that conservatives tend to criticize their own fringe much more than "liberals" (leftists) do, which I think only enhances conservative credibility by contrast. Letting Michael Moore and Jesse Jackson go unchecked does nothing to further left-wing causes (which is fine with me).
The Internet is shit. Or so he claims.
